Ways to Relax Before Bed

Since I have a young child, our weeknights are fairly routine. Below is my routine that I use to relax before bed:
1.I always try to get in some kind of exercise. If you have children, just doing things like laundry, dishes, cleaning and cooking dinner are enough to keep you moving. Otherwise, I play with my son outside or we go to the gym. They have a fun play area for him.

2.For some, watching a TV show might be relaxing. I personally get onto my computer after I put my son to bed and either catch up on that days events, update my social accounts or work on a project that I have going. I am always working on something.
3.In the winter, I find myself drinking hot tea with chamomile. Chamomile is an excellent alternative to relaxation.
4.I have a bedtime range that I set. When I notice that time approaching, I do all of my before-bed activities and then get into bed and open a book. Reading typically makes me tire quickly.
5.If am not feeling tired, I will throw on some relaxing music and burn some incense. Then, I focus on my thoughts and think about the good things that happened that day. I remind myself that whatever I am worrying about cannot be resolved right at that moment so there is no point in thinking about it. My bedtime is my only "me" time (I am a single mom) so I am not going to spend it worrying about what I need to get done.
6.As I focus on the positive thoughts, I will also pay attention to my breathing. This is one of the easiest ways to relax your mind and there will be much more to come on that subject as well.
I typically fall asleep without too much of an issue. Staying asleep is a different story! Taking a bath before bed is another option that you could consider.
The majority of time the reason for being unable to sleep is either the person next to you is snoring, it is too hot in your room, or you just have too much on your mind. My best advice other than trying a few of the things I do as listed above, is to calm your thoughts and remind yourself that there is nothing so urgent t
